Three-card poker has become one of the most popular casino games, joining other casino poker-derivative games like Caribbean Stud and Let It Ride. Along with this increase in popularity, three-card poker cheating has also become quite popular among casino and poker cheats. The main form of cheating we're seeing in three-card poker is not card-switching among two or more poker cheats at a table but rather card-bending, where the cheat effectively marks the key cards by bending them and then uses that knowledge for betting and strategy decisions on forthcoming deals of the game.
How It's Done:
The three-card poker cheat/marker will usually sit in the first seat to the dealer's left and make his bends into all the aces, kings and queens that he handles. Since most three-card poker games use automatic shufflers, the cheat can spot the bent cards while they are still in the shuffler's tray. When he sees a bent card coming to the dealer's hand he will bet the ante. Then when he sees a bent card is coming to his hand he will increase his ante bet as he now has enough advance information on both his hand and the dealer's. The efficient three-card poker bender will have an overall advantage against the casino of about three percent. It's not as good as marking the cards in blackjack but it's still better than card-counting!
